ABOUT OUR FESTIVAL
Welcome to the Gŵyl y Fflam website where you will find all the information on our brand new, exciting Medieval Festival in Corwen, Edeyrnion, north Wales.
The weekend of 12th & 13th September 2020 will be a celebration of the Welsh Middle Ages with particular emphasis on our local hero, Owain Glyndwr and the 'Age of Welsh Princes'. Our Medieval festival takes you back in time to another era shows you what daily life was like in the Middle Ages in Wales. It will be hold in Corwen Town best known for its connections with Owain Glyndŵr, who was proclaimed Prince of Wales on 16 September 1400 by his supporters, from his nearby manor of Glyndyfrdwy, which began his fourteen-year rebellion against English rule.
Our festival Gwyl Y Fflam have medieval reenactors from near and far descending on Edeyrnion to create a living history camps. This lively, historical recreation offers a glimpse into Welsh heritage. It’s also a fantastic gastronomical feast with medieval hog roast and drinks. The market stalls will be selling food and crafts of our local artisans. There will be medieval jester, sword fighting, battle reenactments, jugglers, fire-eaters, have a go archery, medieval theatre with puppets, historical exhibitions, life medieval music and dances, story tellers and a lot of children's activities.
